The ChatterVox portable voice amplification system is designed to elevate vocal output of people with temporary or permanent voice impairments. Its objective is to achieve a speech level that is comfortable and effective for everyday communication, while reducing vocal stress and strain. In plain English - this is a "fanny-pack" with a comfortable microphone which allows those who can speak very softly to be heard!
ChatterVox can boost vocal output by as much as 15dB using it's lightweight headset style microphone. Even greater boost can be achieved for esophageal speakers by using the "transdermal" neck microphone.
The unit features an environmentally friendly, high capacity Nickel Metal-Hydride (Ni-MH) rechargeable power system that can provide up to 14 hours of continuous use and be recharged overnight.
Wearing the Amplifier
The unit is usually worn at the front of the waist much like a "fanny pack" that would hold your wallet. The woven nylon wwaist band is adjustable to 44". Larger waist dimensions can be accommodated by requesting a free 12" belt extension.
Wearing the Microphone
ChatterVox comes with one of two specified microphones. You can order the unit with an extremely comfortable traditional style headset.
ChatterVox is also available with a comfortable Transdermal Neck Microphone. The Transdermal style helps individuals with severe voice impairments to communicate verbally. It is worn around the neck, with the microphone resting on the "sweet" spot of the neck.
